I'm finally catching up on
Dollhouse. And over the course of my journey, I realized that the guy locked in the vault with Echo in "Gray Hour" was the guy from
Crossroads, you know, the Britney Spears movie. So I was double checking the
Crossroads IMDB page to see if I was right and, low and behold, the screenplay was written by my least favourite TV writer currently working: one Ms. Shonda Rhimes. Apparently, Ms. Rhimes was also the main scribe for the dismal
Princess Diaries sequel.
Now doesn't that make just a ton of bad writing sense?
shonda=awful.
ReplyDeleteno wonder the second princess diaries was awful.
I loved the second Princess Diaries.
ReplyDeleteOr, I could just love Anne Hathaway to a depressingly degree.
Ok, I'm too embarrassed to even erase this post.
hmmm... I'm not really sure what to do with that information. I kind of love the first princess diaries (anne hathaway, julie andrews, joe... just call me joe- it's great) but the second, oh boy.
ReplyDeleteit is not, however, shameful to love anne hathaway. she is lovely.
but to love shonda... thats a problem.
Ok, to be honest, I can't even remember the second movie (barely remember the first).
ReplyDeleteBut, still, I've gotta own it.
That being said, I don't know where I stand on Shonda. Having recently rewatched the first couple of seasons of GA, there was some really good stuff (not great, mind you, but good...). I especially like Seasons 2 and 3.
But Private Practice is just rough. I mean, to have that cast, and the incredible guest cast that they've had, and to produce the product that they have is just embarrassing really.
and the sad truth is that as fondly as I remember some of the earlier Grey's, it really wasn't that good. Certainly not good enough to afford a spinoff. And most of the interesting characters that come out of that show are the work of the actors, the writing is overall excrutiatingly weak.
ReplyDeletedont even get me started on Private Practice.
I have to admit a secret shame: I kind of love the second Princess Diaries as well, Dorv, so don't feel too bad. I definitely love Anne Hathaway to an embarrassing degree, but also it stars the soon-to-be-Captain-Kirk Chris Pine in all his awkward prince-glory. Or maybe I should never have admitted all this in a public forum.
ReplyDeleteOk, so to be honest, I don't really remember either movie to well. I just have this thing were I, for no real (or at least good) reason, automatically defend Anne Hathaway.
ReplyDeletePlus, Hector Elizondo is pretty cool.
Hector Elizondo is damn cool.
